What did you do this past week?

This past week, I communicated with my SWE Team. We thought of potential ideas for our website. After reviewing them, we chose one! We also exchanged contacts to better contact each other. I reviewed lecture content on my own time this past week as well.

What’s in your way?

I don’t have much experience, or any at all, with large scale deployments that are both Front End & Back End heavy. I generally work on more backend productions, so I will have to introduce myself to new technologies and learn more about how to handle large scale deployments.

What will you do next week?

Next week, I hope to make greater progress on the website with my team. I also hope to familiarize myself with SQL and AWS. Both of which will likely be used in our project.

What did you think of the Single Responsibility Principle?

It provided a new view of abstraction in Object Oriented Programming. It was great to read about principles that aid programmers in weighing the costs and benefits of certain design choices. I believe this could be very helpful when designing APIs.

What was your experience of IDB1 and reduce?

It was a bit overwhelming to look at all of the requirements at first, but after taking the time to review everything, I feel more confident. My team and I will likely go over all of the requirements together soon.

How did you fare in the storm?

Power & electricity wise: good.

Mentally: not good.

I lost internet for two days, right before my big demo at work. Very stressful! Glad everyone is doing well now, though!

What made you happy this week?

I finalized moving to California for 4 months this summer! And my dog got a shower so he’s really fluffy now.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

DONT procrastinate on your labs. Big mistake, it’s on me. Will I learn from my mistake? Not likely. Will I try? Sure.

Also, I learned about Conda Build this past week. It’s very interesting if you’re looking into making packages in python!
